Accept Apple Pay payments with crypto settlement
Give iPhone and Mac shoppers a checkout they already know. Accept Apple Pay for payments from $10, and receive the order amount in your USD balance as a settled crypto payment.
What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is Apple's digital wallet. A shopper adds a debit or credit card to the Wallet app once, then pays online with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch. The card number itself is not handed to the shop, and that is part of its appeal. It also works in Safari on a Mac, so the same buyer can use it on a laptop as easily as on a phone.
It is most at home on mobile. Typing a long card number, an expiry date and a security code on a small screen is the slowest part of buying on a phone, and Apple Pay replaces all of that with a glance or a fingerprint. Apple Pay works in many countries, but not all of them, and it relies on the buyer's bank supporting it.
For a merchant, accepting Apple Pay payments normally runs through a card processor and its approval process. With CryptoPayr the buyer still pays with Apple Pay, but a partner turns the payment into crypto and sends it to your order, so you receive a settled payment without opening a card account or setting up Apple Pay yourself. Buyers who prefer crypto still see the full coin list beside the button.
How Apple Pay works on CryptoPayr
Switch on "Pay by card" in Settings → Payments and an Apple Pay button appears for payments from $10, counting the card fee, as long as the buyer's device and country support it. Apple Pay is also offered inside Transak for payments from $30, next to card and bank transfer, so a buyer on a larger order has two ways to reach it.
The buyer taps the button, a partner page opens in a new tab, and they confirm the payment with Apple Pay. The partner turns it into crypto and sends it to your order. CryptoPayr confirms the order automatically and your store marks it paid. You are credited the order amount in your USD balance, minus your normal processing fee, and the buyer pays the card processing fee on top: the greater of $2.99 or 9% + $1.50.
How a buyer pays with Apple Pay
Tap Apple Pay
When the payment comes to $10 or more, a buyer on a supported Apple device sees Apple Pay on the checkout and taps it instead of choosing a coin.
Confirm with Face ID or Touch ID
A partner page opens in a new tab. The buyer approves the payment with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode, using a card already in Wallet.
Verify once if the partner asks
Some partners ask a first-time buyer to confirm who they are. That step stays on the partner page, and CryptoPayr never sees the documents.
Order marked paid
The partner sends crypto to the order, CryptoPayr confirms it automatically and your store marks the order paid, with no one checking by hand.
Why merchants offer Apple Pay
Accept Apple Pay without a card processor
You do not need a card acquirer, a processing contract or an Apple Pay setup of your own. Switch on "Pay by card" and the button appears for every buyer whose device and country support it.
Built for phone shoppers
A buyer on an iPhone pays with a card already saved in Wallet instead of typing numbers on a small screen, which keeps the payment step short for the mobile visitors on your store.
The card fee is on the buyer
The greater of $2.99 or 9% + $1.50 is added on top of the order. You are credited the full order amount in USD, minus only your usual processing fee of 2%, 1.5% or 1%.
Disputes are not yours to fight
If a buyer later disputes the charge, that is between them and the partner that sold them the crypto. You received a settled crypto payment, and an order that was paid stays paid.
Two routes behind one switch
From $10 the Apple Pay button appears on its own. From $30 Transak offers Apple Pay as well, beside card and bank transfer, so the same switch covers both smaller and larger payments.

Apple Pay payments: FAQ
What is the minimum payment for Apple Pay?
The Apple Pay button appears for payments from $10, and inside Transak from $30, alongside card and bank transfer. Both minimums count the buyer's whole payment, the order plus the card fee. Below $10 the card partner buttons do not appear, but the buyer can still pay with any of the 110+ coins.
Why do some buyers not see Apple Pay?
Apple Pay depends on the buyer's device and country. It needs an Apple device with a card in Wallet, and it is not offered in every country. A buyer on Windows or Android will not see the button, but they can choose another option on the same page, such as a card, Google Pay or crypto.
How much extra does the buyer pay?
The buyer pays a card processing fee on top of the order: the greater of $2.99 or 9% + $1.50. On a $20 order, 9% + $1.50 comes to $3.30, so the buyer pays $23.30. You are credited the $20 order amount, minus your normal processing fee.
How is an Apple Pay order settled?
Like a card order. The partner sends crypto to the order, CryptoPayr confirms it, and you are credited the order amount in your USD balance, minus your processing fee. You can withdraw to your own wallet in the coin you choose, or set automatic payouts to run daily, weekly, monthly or when your balance reaches a threshold.
Can I refund an Apple Pay purchase?
Yes. Start the refund from your dashboard or through the API. The customer receives an email with a link and enters the crypto address where they want to receive it. The refund is paid in crypto, since that is how the order was settled, and card disputes are handled between the buyer and the partner.
Does the buyer have to verify their identity?
Sometimes. Some partners ask a first-time buyer to verify their identity before the purchase goes through. That happens on the partner's page, never on your checkout, and CryptoPayr never sees the documents. The buyer does not need a CryptoPayr account at any point.
How do I switch on Apple Pay?
Go to Settings → Payments and turn on "Pay by card". There is no separate Apple Pay registration to complete. The same switch also adds the other partner buttons, such as card, Google Pay and Coinbase, each shown when a payment meets its minimum and the buyer's region allows it.
