Accept Coinbase payments with Coinbase Pay
Accept Coinbase payments of $10 or more. Buyers in most countries pay through Coinbase Pay with a card, a bank account or the balance they already hold on Coinbase.
What is Coinbase?
Coinbase is a US-based cryptocurrency exchange and one of the best-known places to buy, sell and hold crypto. Many people bought their first Bitcoin there, and plenty keep their crypto on the exchange rather than in a separate wallet. It is a publicly listed US company, and its app lets people buy crypto with a bank account or a card in a few steps.
Coinbase Pay is the way Coinbase lets people buy crypto from inside another app or checkout. The buyer chooses how to pay, by card, from a bank account or from the balance already in their Coinbase account, and Coinbase sends the crypto where it needs to go. The buyer does not have to copy a wallet address or work out which network to use. Coinbase handles the purchase on its own page, so the buyer stays with a brand they already know.
That matters most for buyers whose crypto sits on the exchange. Without Coinbase Pay they would have to open the app, find the withdrawal screen, paste your address and choose a network before paying. With it, one button does that work. To accept Coinbase payments this way you need no Coinbase account: it is a buyer-side option on your CryptoPayr checkout, not Coinbase Commerce. Buyers who prefer the classic route can still send crypto from Coinbase to the address on the checkout.
How Coinbase works on CryptoPayr
Switch on "Pay by card" in Settings → Payments and a Coinbase button appears on your checkout for payments from $10, for buyers in most countries. It sits beside the coin list and the other partner buttons, so a buyer can choose whichever suits them. There is no Coinbase setup on your side and nothing extra to manage.
The buyer clicks Coinbase and Coinbase Pay opens in a new tab. They pay by card, from a bank account or from their Coinbase balance, and the crypto is sent to the order. CryptoPayr confirms the order automatically and your store marks it paid. You are credited the order amount in your USD balance, minus your normal processing fee.
How a buyer pays with Coinbase
Click Coinbase
Once the payment reaches $10, the buyer sees a Coinbase button on the checkout and picks it instead of copying an address into their wallet app.
Choose how to pay
Coinbase Pay opens in a new tab. The buyer pays by card, from a bank account or straight from the balance in their Coinbase account.
Verify if asked
If the partner asks a first-time buyer to verify their identity, it happens on its own page. CryptoPayr never sees those documents.
Your store gets paid
The crypto is sent to the order, CryptoPayr confirms it automatically, and your store marks the order paid and sends the buyer what they bought.
Why merchants offer Coinbase
Let Coinbase holders spend their balance
Buyers who keep crypto on Coinbase can pay from it in a few clicks, without withdrawing to a wallet or picking a network. That removes the most fiddly part of paying with crypto held on an exchange.
A $10 minimum payment
Coinbase Pay appears for payments from $10, so it covers small downloads, game credits and single articles as well as large baskets, from buyers in most countries.
Available in most countries
Coinbase Pay is offered to buyers in most countries, which makes it one of the widest-reaching partner buttons on your checkout, alongside Transak and Simplex for larger card payments from $30 and $50.
Accept Coinbase payments, credited in USD
You receive the order amount in your USD balance, minus your usual processing fee of 2%, 1.5% or 1% depending on monthly volume. The buyer pays the card processing fee on top of the order.
No Coinbase account on your side
You do not sign up for Coinbase Commerce or any Coinbase business product. One switch in Settings adds the button, and every Coinbase order lands in the same dashboard as your crypto and card sales.

Coinbase payments: FAQ
Is this the same as Coinbase Commerce?
No. Coinbase Commerce is Coinbase's own product for merchants. Here the buyer uses Coinbase Pay on your CryptoPayr checkout, and you need no Coinbase account. To offer it, go to Settings → Payments and switch on "Pay by card". The Coinbase button then appears for payments from $10.
What is the minimum payment for Coinbase?
$10, for buyers in most countries. It is the same $10 floor that applies to all the partner options, and below it the buyer can still pay with crypto.
Which countries can use Coinbase Pay?
Most countries. The button is not limited to one region the way Cash App or Robinhood are. What the buyer can pay with inside Coinbase Pay, whether card, bank or balance, depends on their country and their Coinbase account, and Coinbase shows them the options that apply.
Who pays the card fee?
The buyer. The card fee is added to what they pay, and you are credited the full order amount, minus your processing fee.
How do I get paid for Coinbase orders?
The order amount is credited to your USD balance as soon as CryptoPayr confirms the order, minus your processing fee. You get an email, the payment shows in your dashboard, and your store marks the order paid. Withdraw to your own wallet in the coin you choose, or let automatic payouts do it.
Can I refund a Coinbase buyer?
Yes. Refund from your dashboard or the API. The customer receives an email with a link and enters the crypto address where they want the money, which can be a receiving address from their own Coinbase account. The refund is sent in crypto.
Does Coinbase Pay ask buyers for ID?
It may. Some partners ask a first-time buyer to verify their identity before buying crypto. That happens on the partner's page, and CryptoPayr never sees the documents. Your checkout does not change, and the buyer does not need a CryptoPayr account to pay.
